Baroqe: The second screen for art

The single biggest problem is the lack of IP security for artwork. Many artists complain about lack of freedom for artistic expression. Targeting the right audience for a particular piece of art is something artists are still trying to figure out. Most new professional artists are looking for a way to create proper sales plans and generate a steady source of income. Lack of proper funding, rampant price manipulation by collectors, galleries and exhibitors are other problems in today’s art world.

Despite having the entire world at their fingertips thanks to internet and smartphones, technology users still do not have proper guidance when it comes to art. They don’t have a way to reach artists outside their friend network or professional circle. What’s lacking is a structured art database connecting artists and encouraging them to create new art. Learning art the traditional way – in a studio, in-person, is a costly affair for many. We’re leaving out a huge chunk of art enthusiasts without the means and resources to physically attend an art class.

Trust issues to procure art from various sources for authentic buyers is another major problem. Most buyers don’t have access to the most basic information and awareness about various new art forms springing up, leave alone emerging new artists every-month. We’ve scoured the scene and found that most of the existing platforms for art sale weren’t focusing on making the means to sell artwork as easy as the ways to sell artwork. And so we created Baroqe.
